Each school in NSW has the services of a School Counsellor. A Counsellor may also become involved in other aspects of school life depending on student needs and those of the school. We are psychologists with teaching experience, and have contacts with a wide range of community services.
If I am unable to help directly, I will help you get in touch with someone outside the school who can assist. You can make an appointment by prior arrangement or just visit my office which is located between the canteen and Home Economics, either before school, at recess or at lunch. You may also leave a message with Mr Barrett (boys advisor) or Ms Gollan (girls advisor).
In almost all cases, discussions with the school counsellor are confidential - that means that the counsellor will not discuss what you say with anyone else. In some rare cases, they may have to pass on information to someone else - they will always discuss this with you when you first see them. |
