Years 7 & 8 classes are streamed. Emphasis is placed on sound numeracy skills as well as problem solving strategies. Testing in the SNAP test in both year 7 & 8 allows us to track the improvements made by students.
From year 9 onwards Mathematics classes are graded. The Stage 5 course is delivered as a continuum with depth of study being determined by student needs and ability.
All levels of Mathematics are offered to students studying to the HSC including General Mathematics, Mathematics, Extension 1 and Extension 2 courses. A Board Endorsed Course call Applied Mathematics is also offered in year 12.
Each year students participate in a number of external Mathematics Competitions. The results in these coupled with the excellent exam results at the School Certificate and HSC are testament to the high standards in Mathematics at our school.
