Music

The Music Faculty is a vibrant and creative force within the school and community. It caters for a wide range of interests and abilities throughout the school.



Mandatory Course Yr's 7, 8

All students gain experience in performing & composing music in the junior years. Students develop skills on guitar, keyboard and drums and experience performing in a band situation.In 2006, two songs composed by Yr 8 music classes were selected as winning entries in the Bega Valley Shire Youth Council Anti-Racism CD Competition.


Elective Course- Yr 9, 10, 11

Elective Music Students gain hands on experience in many aspects of the music industry including:

  • performing
  • composing
  • musicology
  • recording
  • stage management
  • marketing
  • sound engineering.

Elective music students co-coordinate an annual music showcase which raises funds to continually expand on the impressive range of equipment available at EMHS. Students develop skills on professional music software including Sibelius and Garage Band.
