PD/Health/PE

PD/H/PE Faculty caters for a wide range of interests and abilities throughout the school. All staff are qualified and highly experienced. Staff are fully accredited in First Aid, Advanced Resuscitation and Surf Bronze Proficiency, this allows Marine Studies, Sport Studies and Physical activities classes to have many water based modules.

Stage 4

Years 7 & 8 classes are mixed and ungraded with students receiving 2 hours of practical and one hour of theory work per week. Sport allows an additional one hour in Year 7 and two hours in Year 8. From Year 9 onwards a number of mandatory and optional courses are offered. All students complete the mandatory 200 hours.

Stage 5

Classes are graded and single gender based. The option of 2 years Marine Studies and Physical Activity  and Sports Studies classes have a strong water component. Students are able to complete their Surf Survival, Resuscitation and Level O Coaching certificates.

Stage 6 (Years 11 & 12)

students are offered the full range of NSW Board of Studies HSC courses.
2 Unit Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (university accredited), 2 Unit Marine Studies and 2 Unit Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation (SLR).

Marine Studies offers an optional Scuba Diving module, whilst SLR has a strong Outdoor Recreation camping emphasis. The academically demanding  2 Unit  PD/H/PE course has a tradition of achieving excellent HSC results.
