What must I do?

All pupils are required to attend each school day for the wole day. If you are unable to attend school for any reason, your parents / guardians are required to inform the school as soon as possible by phone or by personal message. A written note must also be taken to your roll teacher on the day of return.

What happens if I am away?

Genuine reasons for absence include, sickness, attendance at funerals, medical / dental appointments that cannot be made outside of school time. Should you be in doubt, phone the school. If you are absent from school, you must stay away from the school grounds and any function organised by the school ie. Sports Carnivals, Formal Assemblies, Disco Nights, Excursions etc.

Unacceptable reasons for absence

These include activities such as:

  • hairdressing appointments
  • Social engagements such as debutante dress fittings
  • Non-school work commitments
  • Truancy and fractional truancy (these are regarded by the Department of Education as serious offences).

Consequences for unacceptable absence

  • 1st offence - parents / guardians are notified, a monitoring will be issued and you will be required to do a lunchtime detention.
  • 2nd offence - an additional 3 lunchtime detentions must be completed in addition to the monitoring.
  • Any further offences will result in a time out.
